We are proud to serve the community with our New Channels outreach program. Over the years, KHYF has used its resources to welcome under-served and neurodiverse populations to enjoy the ocean. Through partnerships with dozens of other non-profit organizations, we tailor each session to ensure our guests have an unforgettable experience on and off the water. Geared to ages 10 to 18, each event begins with an introduction to water safety and an overview of the activities we offer which typically include a powerboat ride, sailing and kayaking. All of these activities and lunch are provided free of charge to our guests and the familly members who join them.
New Channels is possible because of volunteers who are eager to share their passion for the ocean and boating with those who don't easily have access. It provides a pathway to adventure for our participants, many who have never been to the beach or on the water before. Each event brings smiles, confidence and life-long memories to both our guests and volunteers alike. It is for this reason that we encourage our youth sailors to volunteer as well as parents, KHYC members and those from local charitable organizations.
We appreciate all of our partners and welcome inquiries from other groups interested in learning more about joining us. Please contact Paul Zambriski, New Channels Program Director, for more information at [email protected].
