Welcome to King Harbor Youth Foundation, a non-profit organization established in 1982 to promote youth sailing and give children the opportunity to experience all the ocean has to offer. Our programs have steadily grown and allow us provide year-round sailing instruction to all skill levels, develop and coach team racing, support local High School race teams and serve the community with our New Channels outreach program. Based in Redondo Beach at the King Harbor Yacht Club, our sailing center has served countless families over the years and we are proud to support our youth by teaching life-long skills that instill confidence, teamwork and Corinthian Spirit!
KHYF is a US Sailing Accredited Sailing School and our coaches are US Sailing certified so you can feel confident that your child's experience will be a safe one with the highest level of boating education. By accrediting programs that only meet the highest standards, as set forth in the application process, the US Sailing Program aims to offer a national standard for community sailing programs. Accredited programs have detailed emergency and safety procedures, use curricula that meets US Sailing's teaching standards and are properly insured. Many of our youth sailors have grown through our program and become junior coaches, join college sailing teams and go on to race internationally. The resilience, responsibility and leadership skills gained in sailing prepare our young adults for a lifetime of success.
