SUMMER SAILING
Each year the King Harbor Youth Foundation offers an eight week Summer Sailing program which teaches basic and advanced techniques in sailing. Children as young as seven years old enroll in a two week basic sailing course which includes classroom and on the water instruction. Prior experience is not necessary and all equipment is provided by the Foundation. A brief swim test will be administered. Following the basic course, sailors can continue into the intermediate and advanced sailing courses.
Instructors:The King Harbor Youth Foundation supplies a staff of five Certified Instructors. Each instructor has completed a four day training class provided by US Sailing. The instructors are also required by KHYF to have completed training in CPR and First Aid.

Boats/Facilities:Unlike most other youth sailing programs, KHYF Summer Sailing supplies the boats needed to participate in the program. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced classes use an 8 foot US Sabot. Even our beginning students will be sailing in their own boat after a day or two of instruction. The program uses the facility of the King Harbor Yacht Club located in Redondo Beach.
Schedule/Pricing:The program runs for 8 weeks starting June 25 th through August 17 th in two week increments. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced classes are taught Monday - Friday for a 2 hour length of time: Beginner from 9am-11am, Intermediate from 12noon-2pm and Advanced from 2:30pm-4:30pm. Fees range from $250-$225. Some sessions are shorter due to conflicts and the fees are pro rated. Refund Policy
Full registration is refunded ONLY when a cancellation is confirmed two weeks prior to the start of the
scheduled class. If cancellation is made after the two-week period, we will make every effort to fill your spot to
