'Blue Boat' is a Martin 242 sailboat docked on the inside of
the guest dock at KHYC.
The primary purpose of the KHYF 'Blue Boat' rental program
is to enhance the access to sailing of individuals at a
reasonable rate while covering the costs of maintaining and
running the rental program at a high level for all participants.
How do I rent?
Become a 'Qualified Individual'
- See below
Reserve Rental Time
- Minimum of 24 hour notice strongly requested (48 hours preferred)
- Send request email with date and time requested to KHYFcoach@gmail.com
- You should receive a confirmation email and see your time slot reserved on the Rental Calendar
Collect and file 'Participant waiver form' for each passenger on board
- Forms are located in the folder onboard the boat
- A parent or Guardian must sign for children under age 18
- Leave in black Mailbox across from KHYC office
Leave check for rental fees in KHYF mailbox
- Located across from KHYC office
How do I become a a Qualified Renter ("Qualified Individual")?
1. Pass a boating safety course
- Takes approximately 1 hour online
2. Complete "Qualified Individual" check out
- Schedule with KHYFcoach@gmail.com
- Takes approximately 2 hours total (classroom and on-the-water)
- Price break when taken with multiple individuals (up to 3 at a time)
Sign "Qualified Individual" Waiver form
- Must be updated every two years.
